Clubs & Groups
Roosevelt HS offers a wide variety of academic competitions and other clubs and organizations that provide lots of opportunities for students to get involved, to learn new or improve existing skills, and to meet new people and make new friends!

American Sign Language (ASL) Club (DISD Google Classroom : Here you will practice the basics of American Sign Language, play games to master your ASL skills, and learn more about the role of ASL in our society through videos and volunteering. (Mrs. Alkebulan)
**Black Student Union : Roosevelt BSU works to inform students of local, national, and global affairs occurring within the African diaspora, to provide a safe space for black students and their allies to speak about their thoughts and feelings regarding current race relations, to hold activities and discussions to create better racial dialogue and understanding among Roosevelt students, and to create events and fundraisers for organizations in the Dallas metroplex that work toward racial equity. Chess Team : Explore the intricacies of chess by playing with others and learning new tactics and maneuvers to improve your skills. You'll test your knowledge of the game by competing in numerous tournaments. (Mr. Koryatt)
**Executive Student Board: Executive Student Board (ESB) is a collective of highly ambitious, eager student representatives from each of the respective schools and departments of Roosevelt HS of Innovation. Duties include weekly meetings, representative work, volunteer work, and consistent involvement with all six schools and outside entities. (Mrs. Norsworthy)
Journaling Club: If you like to organize your thoughts, plan for your future or think and write about things that are important to you, the Journaling Club is for you. Meetings are every Monday in room F102. (Mr. Terry)
Mental Health Advocacy Club: works to promote resources and information about maintaining a healthy mental health state. Its primary goals are to spread awareness through social media and web resources that can be accessed by all Roosevelt Mustangs ( Dr. Mellerson).
Music Production Club: Do you want to learn how to produce songs for your favorite artists? Do you want to learn about the many steps involved in the music creation process? In the music production club, we will dive into the many aspects of making music such as beat making, sound design, mixing, mastering, and more. Even if you are not super passionate, this club is a great option if you are looking for something chill to do after school (Mr. O Cook).
National Honor Society: NHS enhances a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

**Photography Club : The club focuses on bringing together students to learn about, experience together, and share photography. We will explore both the art and the science of photography. Activities include learning camera skills, learning various styles of photography, participating in on-campus photo shoots, and sharing and discussing images captured by members. Students at any level of experience are welcome. Having a camera is not required.
**Physical Fitness Training Club: Come to the gym after school for 45 minutes of physical activity! You will get fun physical training such as stations, yoga, light weights, ab workouts, and running! All are welcome! Come one day or all four days! There is no attendance requirement, just commit to be fit! This is a great way to get in shape, stay in shape, or just relieve stress! Bring a friend or make new friends at Roosevelt PT Club! (Sgt. Paige)
**Student Recruitment Team: is a group of students hand-picked to represent FDRHSOI at open houses, info sessions, application days, school visits, and other events involved in the recruitment and onboarding of incoming Roosevelt students. (Mr. Thomas)
Talented and Black (TAB): Roosevelt's very own black student union! We provide a safe space and community for black students at Roosevelt while doing activities such as playing games together, giving each other advice, and talking about what it's like to be black at Roosevelt. (Mrs Henderson)
**Mustang Roller Skating Club : an after-school club where students meet up and roller skate and rollerblade together. Members can learn new moves, make new friends, and have fun on wheels. The club is open to anyone—all schools are welcome, and all levels of expertise.(Ms.Pruit)
Yearbook Club: The Roosevelt Yearbook Club is responsible for creating the Mustang yearbook. Members take photographs of life at Velt over the course of a school year and are responsible for designing the yearbook. (Mr. Terry Email Address: sterry@dallasisd.org )
